ASSISTANT TECHNICAL OFFICER

REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
• an active, unexpired driver’s license.
• knowledge about computers (Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point).
• basic familiarity with using lab equipment.
• the capacity to solve issues.
• good organizational abilities and verbal and written communication capabilities.
• good relationships amongst people.
• a readiness to learn new skills.

Duties :

• The incumbent will help with the delivery and distribution of sample supplies to various monitors in response to pre-planned and last-minute demands.
• The incumbent will see to it that sample material routing is completed on time, print tags and timetables, and maintain the most recent addresses for monitors.
• Also, the incumbent will help with the development of spreadsheets and batch-logged samples in packing lists for various analysis groups.
• In addition to performing the verification of samples packed for analysis in laboratories, the responsibility includes management of queries relating to problematic samples, including logging and double-checking on both the Water Management System (WMS) and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
