Job Description:

Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine is seeking a qualified and responsible Driver to join their team.

The Driver will report to the Senior Procurement Officer and will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of people and goods while adhering to all safety and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport people and goods safely and promptly, adhering to all safety and operational procedures.
  • Conduct pre-use inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe and workable condition, including checking water, oil, fuel levels, air pressure, electrical components, hydraulic function, brakes, and controls.
  • Maintain fluid levels as specified by the manufacturer’s standards and report any defects immediately to the supervisor.
  • Ensure the vehicle license is valid and carry a valid driver’s license and Public Driver’s Permit (PDP) at all times.
  • Operate the vehicle according to the specified procedures and safety regulations to maximize work life and ensure cleanliness.
  • Report any defects or accidents immediately to the supervisor.
  • Collect, load, secure, and off-load goods according to specifications, ensuring all relevant documentation is completed and signed by the sender and receiver.
  • Safely transport passengers and ensure they adhere to road safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform ad-hoc duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: Grade 12/Standard 10 Certificate.
  • Driver’s License: Code 10 (C1) with a valid Public Driver’s Permit (PDP).
  • Experience: At least 1 year of practical driving or delivery experience.
  • Advantageous: 3 months of practical forklift driving experience.
