Job Summary:
The Driver will play a critical role in supporting the catering operations by ensuring the safe and timely transportation of meals, ingredients, and equipment between various sites. This position requires a dependable and responsible individual who is committed to maintaining high standards of service, safety, and professionalism.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating company vehicles in compliance with South African road laws and company policies. In addition to driving duties, the Driver will assist with basic logistical tasks, including loading and unloading goods, maintaining delivery records, and supporting catering teams when required.
This role is essential to maintaining the efficiency of operations, as timely deliveries directly impact service quality and customer satisfaction. Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Safe and Legal Driving Practices:
- Operate company vehicles in full compliance with the laws of South Africa, as outlined in the Road Safety Act.
- Adhere to all traffic regulations, including speed limits and road signage.
- Follow client-specific rules and site regulations when operating within client premises.
- Ensure safe driving practices at all times to minimize the risk of accidents or incidents.
2. Vehicle Maintenance and Roadworthiness:
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure that the vehicle is in a roadworthy condition before use.
- Check essential components such as brakes, lights, tyres, fuel levels, and fluid levels.
- Report any mechanical faults, damages, or irregularities immediately to the relevant supervisor.
- Ensure that vehicles are kept clean, both internally and externally, to maintain a professional appearance.
3. Delivery of Catering Supplies:
- Deliver meals, ingredients, and catering supplies to various locations safely and on time.
- Ensure that all deliveries are handled with care to maintain quality and hygiene standards.
- Verify delivery details, including quantities and destinations, before departure.
- Obtain necessary signatures or confirmations upon delivery where required.
4. Logbook and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of all trips in the vehicle logbook, including mileage, destinations, and times.
- Record fuel usage and any other relevant operational details.
- Ensure that all documentation is completed accurately and submitted as required.
5. Loading and Unloading:
- Assist with the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring that items are handled safely and securely.
- Ensure that loads are properly secured to prevent damage during transit.
- Follow proper lifting techniques and safety procedures when handling heavy items.
6. Support to Catering Operations:
- Assist catering teams with the movement of equipment and supplies when required.
- Provide support during events or peak operational periods to ensure smooth service delivery.

- Represent the company in a professional manner at all times when interacting with clients, colleagues, and the public.
