Rainbow Chickens is offering a unique opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing a career as a Refrigeration Technician through a three-year apprenticeship program.

The apprenticeship is fully funded through SETA and aims to equip participants with the necessary knowledge and practical experience.
Role Purpose:
As a Refrigeration Apprentice, you will undergo comprehensive training and mentorship to develop proficiency in refrigeration systems and maintenance. The role will be based at our Worcester Processing Plant located in the Western Cape.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of Grade 12 qualification.
- N3 qualification with a 50% pass rate in both Mathematics and Physical Science.
Required Experience:
- Previous experience in an engineering environment is advantageous.
- Prior exposure to working in a refrigeration setting will be beneficial.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate actively in the structured apprenticeship program, including both theoretical and practical training components.
- Assist experienced technicians in conducting maintenance, repairs, and installations of refrigeration systems.
- Learn to troubleshoot and diagnose faults in refrigeration equipment.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks on refrigeration units.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations at all times.
- Keep accurate records of work performed and report any issues or concerns to supervisors.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Attend training sessions and workshops as required to enhance skills and knowledge in refrigeration technology.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct throughout the apprenticeship.
