Job Description

ROLE PURPOSE

To operate heavy equipment, specifically TLBs, and will be responsible for safely and efficiently executing excavation, trenching, loading, and backfilling tasks on site.

MAIN OUTPUTS

• Operate and maintain a TLB in a safe and efficient manner
• Perform excavation, trenching, loading, and backfilling tasks as per project requirements
• Follow safety protocols and ensure all equipment is operated according to manufacturer guidelines
• Communicate with team members and supervisors to ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and report any issues to the maintenance team
• Adhere to all site regulations and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

The Applicant must meet the following requirements:

• Grade 12 (Technical Matric advantageous)
• Valid TLB Operator certification or license
• 3 years relevant expereince as a TLB Operator 
• Ability to operate a TLB in a variety of conditions, including rough terrain and tight spaces
• Physical ability to work in a demanding outdoor environment for extended periods of time
• Knowledge on various types of heavy equipment 
• Mining industry expereince 
• Relevant on-site training (SOP training, HIRA, Fatigue management)
