The Warehouse Driver/Assistant plays a crucial role in facilitating deliveries to customer sites and ensuring all necessary paperwork is maintained accurately.
Additionally, when not engaged in driving duties, the candidate will provide assistance in warehouse operations.
Responsibilities – Driver:
- Driving Duties: Undertake all driving responsibilities efficiently and safely, adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
- Vehicle Operation: Operate and maintain vehicles, ensuring they are in optimal condition for safe transportation.
- Vehicle Inspections: Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and address any issues promptly.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols during all driving operations.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records on the vehicle logbook, including fuel, mileage, and any incidents or accidents encountered.
- Route Planning: Plan and execute the most efficient driving routes using maps and directions to ensure timely delivery to customers.
- Warehouse Assistance: Provide support in warehouse activities when not engaged in driving, including picking and checking stock, conducting cycle counts, and maintaining cleanliness.

- Stock Handling: Assist with picking and checking stock as required by the dispatch and receiving departments.
- Stock Accuracy: Ensure accuracy in stock records and conduct cycle counts regularly to maintain inventory integrity.
- Safety Adherence: Adhere to safety regulations and report any unsafe conditions or incidents to the appropriate authorities promptly.
- Maintenance: Conduct safety checks on lifting equipment before operation and report any maintenance needs to the relevant personnel.
Requirements:
- Completed Matric.
- Valid Code 14 Driver’s License with PDP for at least two years.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Driver in a similar environment.
- Minimum of 2 years of warehouse experience.
- Clean driving record.
- Proficiency in English.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Effective time management skills.
- Proficiency in reading and understanding South African road rules and regulations.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance requirements.
- Proficiency in operating lifting equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
