Job Advert Summary
An opportunity for a Driver Ultra Heavy Vehicle has arisen to operate a motor vehicle with a gross vehicle mass or gross combination mass not exceeding 56,000 kg.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 10/NQF level 2
  • Grade 12/Matric/NQF level 4
  • Code EC PrDP – “D” if required to operate a DG vehicle
  • Up to 3 years’ experience

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare vehicles for a trip
  • Operate ultra-heavy-duty vehicles
  • Perform vehicle inspection before and after the trip
  • Handle documentation from dispatch to the customer and back to the distribution Centre
  • Take full responsibility for the roadworthiness of the vehicle when leaving the Depot
  • Prepared to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
  • Account for all goods being transported to the customer
  • Follow all reasonable instructions from Supervisor
  • Maintain a safe driving record and clean criminal record

  • 3 years of experience driving a Superlink/Interlink combination
  • Must be prepared to work weekends and public holidays
  • Defensive driving techniques
  • Reporting procedure of emergencies and defects
  • Vehicle inspections and operating a fire extinguisher

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare vehicle for trip and operate Ultra-heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Load, transport, and offload vehicles.
  • Handle required documentation and perform ancillary duties.
  • Follow all reasonable instructions from Supervisor.
  • Prepared to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Maintain a safe driving record and clean criminal record.
  • Housekeeping of vehicles, uniform, and PPE.
  • Adhere to promote SOP’s and Safety Procedures.
  • Successfully undergo/complete medical evaluation, USCS training modules, induction processes, practical driving evaluation, and verification of a clean criminal record.
