MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To transport and escort patients, equipment, files, and related items between different departments of a hospital to support hospital operations in delivering the highest standards of care.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
- Transport and escort patients safely to a predetermined location.
- Assist with evacuations during emergency situations.
- Execute driver functions (as per hospital request and within hospital guidelines).
- Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of patient rights and Mediclinic values.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Essential Education: Grade 10
Desired Education: None
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Essential Minimum Experience: Client services / Dealing with the public
Desired Experience: Healthcare experience (e.g., care work)
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Licence with PDP
- Patient rights charter
- English proficiency (read, speak, and write)
- Kinetic handling principles
- Knowledge of medico-legal risks
- Two-way radio systems
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
- Internal emergency evacuation plans
- Knowledge of administrative tasks
- Health and Safety Act and regulations
