Motus Renault Pinetown is offering a unique opportunity for an Apprentice (Automotive Motor Mechanic/Petrol) to join their team. This role provides an excellent chance for individuals passionate about becoming a skilled Technician in the motor industry. The successful candidate will actively participate in all aspects of the Apprenticeship program, working under the supervision of a qualified Technician. The goal is to fulfill the MerSETA requirements, master level tests, and qualify within a maximum of 4 years.
Position Overview:
To participate in all aspects of the Apprenticeship program, assisting with vehicle repairs under the supervision of a qualified Technician, and fulfilling MerSETA requirements within a maximum of 4 years.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Matric/ Grade 12/ NQF level 4 or 5 certificate or relevant
- with subjects including Pure Maths and Physical Science (minimum pass mark of 50% per subject is an advantage).
- Valid, unendorsed driver’s license.
- Clear criminal record.
- Mechanical insight and technical aptitude. Skills and experience in this area are advantageous.
Specific Role Responsibilities:
- Attend scheduled technical/level training courses.
- Assist with vehicle repairs under the supervision and instruction of a Technician.
- Prepare thoroughly for level tests to qualify within 4 years.
- Maintain housekeeping, keeping tools and equipment clean, and work area orderly.
- Follow workplace safety and conduct rules and protocols.
- Perform any other reasonable duties required from time to time.
Skills and Personal Attributes:
- Competent operation of manufacturer diagnostic equipment/computer for accessing information.
- Physically fit for heavy work and able to complete duties associated with the role.
- Enjoy working with hands.
- Able to work in noisy environments.
- Good eyesight and hand-eye coordination.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and motor vehicle fault-finding skills.

- Sound English communication and writing skills.
