What We’re Looking For:
We are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications, experience, and skillsets:
- Valid Code 10 driver’s license with PDP.
- Minimum three years’ experience in a similar position.
- Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
- Proficiency in one of the other official South African languages (e.g., seSotho or isiZulu) is advantageous.
- Clear criminal record.
Responsibilities:
As a Bus Driver at Curro Douglasdale, your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring passenger safety by being attentive to traffic and weather conditions.
- Following the planned route and schedule for departure times and stops.
- Regularly inspecting vehicle safety features such as tires, brakes, and turn signals.
- Safely transporting children and other passengers to and from school.
- Adhering to all traffic laws to ensure the safety of students.
- Maintaining cleanliness and mechanical soundness of the bus.
- Ensuring the safety of all students during boarding and disembarking.
- Providing friendly and courteous customer service to passengers.
- Communicating effectively with school staff and parents regarding any issues or concerns.
- Demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to accommodate changes in schedules or routes.
- Responding calmly and effectively to emergencies or unexpected situations.
- Keeping accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities.
- Participating in training sessions and workshops to enhance driving skills and knowledge.
- Upholding Curro’s values and contributing positively to the school community.
Start Date:
The successful candidate will commence employment on 01 May 2024.
