Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking experienced Cashiers to join our team. As a Cashier, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service at the point of sale, ensuring a superior shopping experience for our customers.

Your responsibilities will include accurately recording customer transactions on the Dis-Chem operating system in adherence to company policies and standard operating procedures, with a strong focus on accuracy and fraud prevention.

Requirements:

Grade 12 / Matric qualification
Minimum of 6 months’ experience in cashier or till operations
Proficiency in MS Office and basic computer literacy
Strong numerical skills and ability to work with numbers accurately
Excellent command of the English language
Basic understanding of customer service principles
Willingness and availability to work retail hours

Responsibilities:

Adhere to Dis-Chem’s customer service policies and procedures
Build professional relationships with customers and address their inquiries or concerns
Report customer feedback, complaints, and compliments to appropriate supervisors or management
Stay informed about current sales promotions and effectively communicate them to customers
Ensure a safe environment for colleagues and customers, adhering to security protocols
Manage cash flow, process transactions, and handle payments including cash, bank cards, vouchers, and coupons
Process loyalty card transactions according to partner guidelines
Follow Dis-Chem’s procedures for handling voids, price changes, and merchandise exchanges
Maintain confidentiality and security of cash and customer transactions
Remain vigilant and report any suspicious behavior to management promptly
Assist customers with inquiries related to store merchandise
Uphold Dis-Chem’s security policies and procedures at all times
