Job Purpose

The Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods to various locations, ensuring adherence to delivery schedules, road safety regulations, and company standards. The role involves daily inspections of the vehicle, proper handling of goods, maintaining accurate documentation, and professional interaction with customers to uphold the company’s reputation. 

Key Performance Areas

• Deliver a wide variety of items to different addresses and through different routes.
• Follow routes and delivery schedule.
• Load, unload and prepare the delivery vehicle.
• Inspect the delivery vehicle as per the checklist.
• Perform regular inspections and safety checks of the vehicles before driving them.
• Maintain safety and conduct standard examination of the loaded goods.
• Assist in other positions and/or departments when required.
• Comply with safety regulations.
• Maintain good housekeeping standards.
• Ensure the checklist is completed for each delivery.
• Always uphold the integrity of the company when dealing with customers.

Job Requirements

Minimum Skills and Knowledge Required

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Valid Code 10 driver’s license and PDP.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a driver and at least (2) practical experience driving a 4- & 8-Ton Truck
• Accident-free record will be advantageous.
• No traffic violations will be advantageous.
• Good knowledge of Gauteng region will be advantageous.
• Must know all traffic rules and regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret road maps and/or accurately follow GPS coordinates.
• Excellent command of English both verbal and in writing.
• Medically fit to work as a driver.
