Job Description : The job of a Cleaner is currently open. The Cleaner will be part of the Corporate Services Division and will report directly to the Supervisor: Cleaning. The position is based at GEMS’s headquarters.

Job Title : Permanent Junior position

Location : Menlyn, Gauteng

Qualifications and Experience :

NQF Level 2 equivalent/ABET Level 4 qualification/and/or NQF 1 occupation-related certification.
Be organized and efficient with your time.
Have the ability to prioritize.
Have excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Have the ability to work well in a team.
Be accountable and dependable.
Have a strong work ethic and an eye for detail.
Self-driven and proactive.

Responsibilities (to mention a few) :

Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
Maintain a high level of cleanliness throughout the Head Office.
Vacuum all carpets and furniture.
All chairs, desks, counters, and shelves should be dusted and polished.
Sweep and mop the floor tiles.
Other fixtures and fittings, such as skirting, radiators, pipes, fire extinguishers, and any other surfaces within reachable height, should be dusted.
Empty and clean bins, and transport waste to a designated area, including waste separation for recycling.
Internal and external door glass should be cleaned.
Clean all ablution facilities in accordance with the established standards and procedures.
Wash dishes and keep the kitchen clean and sanitary at all times.
Prepare boardrooms, training rooms, and meeting rooms for cleanliness, meeting requirements, and as directed by the supervisor.
