This role involves managing allocated loads and vehicles on assigned routes to ensure the safe and timely delivery of products without incurring any damages.
The position is based at our Milling Corporate Office in Midrand, Gauteng.
Purpose of the Job:
The primary responsibility of the Heavy Duty Truck Driver is to oversee the transportation of goods and merchandise while adhering to safety regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities:
- Assume responsibility for the allocated vehicle, conducting daily inspections, and reporting any faults or mechanical issues promptly.
- Complete vehicle inspection sheets and ensure vehicles are refueled as needed.
- Load and offload various food products, including pallets, with care to prevent damage.
- Maintain the cleanliness and proper functioning of the truck and associated equipment.
- Ensure compliance with the Road Traffic Act and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Verify correct loading and documentation, ensuring accurate delivery quantities.
- Obtain proof of delivery signatures and maintain accurate records.
- Navigate routes effectively throughout Gauteng and surrounding areas.
- Uphold company vehicle maintenance standards and promote good housekeeping practices.
Qualification Requirements:
- Minimum Grade 12 certificate.
- Valid, unendorsed Code 14 driver’s license with a valid PrDP.
Experience Requirements:
- 5-10 years of driving experience, preferably with Scania, Mercedes Benz, and MAN vehicles.
- Clean driving record and criminal record.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Good reading and writing abilities.
- Medically fit for the demands of the role.
- Hands-on and practical approach to tasks.
