Job Description:

Requirements:

  • Minimum qualification: Grade 12.
  • Previous experience in a customer-focused service environment, especially in reception, would be advantageous.
  • Proficient in computer usage.
  • Experience with GoodX system would be beneficial.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide efficient, friendly, and professional telephone services to support patient care.
  • Assist patients in accurately completing necessary forms and document all information in accordance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Manage reception-related processes such as booking, patient arrival, and payment on the relevant systems.
  • Direct customers to the appropriate locations, services, and professionals within the centre.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times in compliance with POPIA regulations.
  • Ensure the reception area is consistently neat and tidy.
  • Refer emergency cases to the nurse’s station following established protocols.
  • Assist patients with basic account queries and escalate issues as needed.
  • Collect co-payments and account balances according to Intercare policies.
  • Execute and adhere to daily cash-up and banking procedures.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and welcoming demeanor.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in administrative tasks.
  • Proficiency in computer usage, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Prior experience with the GoodX system or similar healthcare management software is advantageous.
  • Understanding of medical terminology and procedures is beneficial.
