As a Shop Assistant / Cashier at Clicks, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional customer service, efficient point of sale operations, and effective merchandising to ensure a positive customer experience.

Job Objectives:

  • Execute all operational activities at the point of sale efficiently and accurately.
  • Ensure high levels of accuracy during merchandise scanning and payment collection, including clubcard rewards processing.
  • Safely handle cash transactions in adherence to security protocols.
  • Proactively promote Clicks’ clubcard and enroll new members to meet participation targets.
  • Inform customers about promotions to drive sales and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Act as a brand ambassador by delivering superior customer service in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Maintain store merchandising and housekeeping standards according to company guidelines.
  • Support Clicks’ vision of being the customer’s first choice health and beauty retailer by embodying company values.
  • Stay updated on product knowledge, promotions, and events to provide accurate information to customers.

Knowledge:

  • Basic mathematics calculations.
  • Retail/FMCG background with an understanding of merchandising and promotional principles.
  • Familiarity with stock management procedures.
  • Knowledge of customer service excellence.

Skills:

  • Effective planning and organizing abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Customer-oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Computer literacy, including POS systems.
  • Numeracy skills for accurate transactions.

Experience:

Education:

  • Desirable: Maths and English at 50% or above at Grade 12 level.
