Position Overview
Triton Express is currently seeking a reliable and hardworking General Worker – Truck Assistant to join its team in East London. This role plays a crucial part in the day-to-day operations of the business, ensuring that goods are handled, loaded, and delivered safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
The General Worker – Truck Assistant will be responsible for a variety of operational tasks, including but not limited to:
- Loading and Off-loading Goods:
Assist with loading goods onto vehicles at the depot, ensuring that items are handled with care to prevent damage. Off-load goods both at the depot and at client premises efficiently and safely. - Delivery Support:
Work alongside the driver to ensure timely and accurate deliveries to customers. Assist in navigating delivery routes and ensuring that all goods reach their intended destination. - Stacking and Organizing Goods:
Carefully stack goods in designated areas at the depot or client premises. Ensure that items are arranged in a neat and organized manner to facilitate easy access and prevent damage. - Securing Loads:
Ensure that all goods are properly secured on the vehicle before transit. This includes checking that loads are balanced and stable to prevent shifting during transportation. - Adherence to Safety Standards:
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when handling goods and operating within the depot or at client locations. Use appropriate lifting techniques and equipment where necessary. - General Housekeeping:
Maintain cleanliness and order within the work environment. This includes keeping the vehicle, loading areas, and storage spaces tidy and free from hazards. - Customer Interaction:
Represent Triton Express professionally when interacting with clients. Assist with off-loading goods at customer premises and ensure a positive delivery experience. - Assisting with Operational Tasks:
Support other general duties as required by supervisors or management to ensure smooth operations within the company.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Educational Qualification:
A minimum of Grade 12 (Matric) is required. - Communication Skills:
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. - Physical Fitness:
Must be physically fit and capable of handling manual labor, including lifting and moving heavy items. - Work Ethic:
