Key Responsibilities:
- Complete theoretical courses through SAGMA while gaining practical experience in a milling environment.
- Work in designated areas to acquire practical skills and apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios.
- Learn key competencies of each department within the milling supply chain.
- Operate a mill under the guidance of the Production Manager/Head Miller, ensuring optimum extractions and producing finished products fit for human consumption.
Apprenticeship Program:
- Duration: 3 years
- Consists of theoretical self-learning and practical application training
- Involves working shifts, weekends, and public holidays
Qualification Requirements:
- Grade 12 (not older than 24 months):
- Mathematics (not Maths Literacy): 60% and above
- Physical Science: 60% and above
Experience Requirements:
- No prior experience needed
- Skills and Competencies:
- Curious mindset with good problem-solving skills
- Ability to operate in a pressurized environment
- Team player with the capacity to work under minimal supervision
- Enjoyment in working with mechanical systems and technically inclined
- Process orientation and a mindset for process improvement
Key Outputs:
- Pass each SAGMA module at the prescribed pass rate.
- Acquire in-depth knowledge of the relevant department/area in the milling supply chain and perform required key tasks after completing each module.
- Execute any additional tasks required by the Production Manager/Head Miller.
