Key Responsibilities

Inspection lists must be completed accurately and submitted to the Dispatch Supervisor every Monday for sign-off before a new inspection list is issued.

Any faults or issues identified during inspections must be reported immediately. The vehicle should not leave the premises until all concerns have been addressed and resolved.

Loading and Dispatch Procedures
Before loading parcels, you will be required to check all items together with your supervisor. It is essential to follow the New Dispatch Loading Procedure at all times to ensure accuracy and accountability.

You must ensure that all goods are loaded correctly and securely to prevent damage during transit. Attention to detail is critical during this process.

Delivery Operations
You will be responsible for delivering parcels to customers according to your designated route schedule and trip sheet. Timely and accurate deliveries are essential to maintaining customer satisfaction.

Drivers must ensure that all deliveries are completed efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations. Professional conduct when interacting with customers is expected at all times.

Proof of Delivery (POD) Compliance
Ensuring proper completion of the Proof of Delivery (POD) process is a critical part of this role. You must ensure that customers follow POD procedures and provide the necessary documentation upon delivery.

All documents and collection slips assigned to your trip sheet must be delivered and returned with completed PODs. These documents must be signed in with the POD clerk at the end of your shift.

Failure to return completed trip sheets and POD documents may result in accountability for any claims related to missing or unverified deliveries.

Route and Documentation Management
You will be responsible for managing your trip sheets and ensuring that all assigned documents are accounted for. Any outstanding documentation will be your responsibility, and accuracy is essential to avoid discrepancies.

Drivers must also ensure that no stock transfers occur between customer shops, as this is strictly prohibited.

Vehicle Care and Reporting
Maintaining the cleanliness and condition of the vehicle is an important part of your responsibilities. Vehicles should be kept clean and presentable at all times.

Any issues or problems with the vehicle must be reported immediately to the Dispatch Supervisor to prevent further complications.

Issue Reporting and Communication
You will be required to report any delivery issues, delays, or POD-related concerns to the Dispatch Supervisor promptly. Clear and timely communication is essential to ensure smooth operations and quick resolution of any challenges.
