Job Overview
NTK Retail in Polokwane is currently seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Driver to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for loading, lifting, and moving goods on pallets within and outside the company premises. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient handling and dispatch of goods, particularly in preparing stock for delivery to clients.
The position requires a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and efficiency. The Forklift Driver must be able to operate equipment responsibly while maintaining high standards of service and professionalism.
Job Purpose
The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the safe and efficient movement of goods using a forklift. The employee will assist in loading trucks, controlling the offloading of goods, and supporting general warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities
Loading and Offloading of Goods
The Forklift Driver will be responsible for controlling the offloading of incoming goods and ensuring that all items are handled carefully. This includes verifying deliveries and ensuring that goods are stored correctly.
Movement of Palletised Goods
The role involves loading, lifting, and transporting goods on pallets within the warehouse and yard areas. The driver must ensure that goods are moved safely and efficiently to prevent damage or loss.
Truck Loading for Dispatch
Preparing goods for dispatch is a key responsibility. The Forklift Driver will load trucks accurately, ensuring that all items are correctly placed and secured for transportation.
General Warehouse Support
The employee may be required to assist with other industry-related functions as needed. This includes supporting overall warehouse operations and ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 qualification
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Valid forklift licence or willingness to be re-examined
- Code 10 driver’s licence with PDP will be advantageous
- Willingness to work shifts and overtime when required
- Traceable references
Additional Advantages
- Knowledge of tyre overhaul and repair will be beneficial
