Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 qualification
- At least 1 year of experience working as a cashier or in a similar financial transaction environment
- Good interpersonal and communication skills

Key Responsibilities
The Cashier: Station Fare Collection will perform a range of financial, administrative, and customer service duties, including but not limited to:
- Coordinating the sale of transport tickets, smart cards, and other fare-related products to members of the public
- Handling all cash transactions accurately, including receiving payments, issuing change, and balancing daily cash takings
- Preparing and securing monies for deposit in accordance with financial procedures and controls
- Assisting customers with enquiries related to fares, routes, ticketing options, and general transport information
- Maintaining and completing a cashbook, ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded and reconciled
- Capturing passenger information and operational data on Excel spreadsheets for monthly reporting and analysis purposes
- Ensuring all relevant documents are properly archived and stored for audit and record-keeping purposes
- Administering processes related to special bus hire services, including documentation and customer coordination
- Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness within the cashier office and surrounding public service areas
- Receiving and assisting members of the public who visit the office with enquiries, complaints, or service-related issues
- Responding to telephonic enquiries and directing calls to the appropriate departments or stakeholders when necessary
- Following up on outstanding queries and providing timely and accurate feedback to customers
