Purpose of the Position
The Cleaner: Facilities is responsible for providing professional cleaning services within designated government offices and facilities. The successful applicant will ensure that workspaces are maintained according to established hygiene and cleanliness standards while supporting a healthy and productive working environment.
The role requires commitment, responsibility, and the ability to perform routine cleaning duties efficiently and consistently.
Key Performance Areas
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
Provision of Cleaning Services
- Clean offices, meeting rooms, reception areas, passages, kitchens, and other designated areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors according to cleaning schedules.
- Dust furniture, shelves, office equipment, windowsills, and other surfaces.
- Empty waste bins and dispose of refuse safely and appropriately.
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms, toilets, washbasins, mirrors, and related facilities.
- Replenish soap, toilet paper, paper towels, and other hygiene supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness in kitchen and tea-room facilities.
- Ensure all work areas remain neat, hygienic, and welcoming.
- Report maintenance issues or damaged equipment to the relevant supervisor.
Maintain Cleaning Materials and Equipment
- Keep cleaning equipment clean and in good working condition.
- Store cleaning materials safely according to departmental procedures.
- Ensure cleaning supplies are used responsibly to prevent unnecessary waste.
- Monitor the condition of cleaning tools and equipment.
- Report faulty or damaged equipment for repair or replacement.
Request Cleaning Materials
- Monitor stock levels of cleaning materials.
- Inform supervisors when cleaning supplies require replenishment.
- Assist with receiving and storing new cleaning materials.
- Ensure sufficient supplies are available to perform daily duties effectively.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must possess the following qualification:
- ABET (Adult Basic Education and Training) or AET (Adult Education and Training) qualification.
