Internship Programme Opportunities – SANParks (Marakele National Park)
South African National Parks (SANParks) is inviting applications from suitably qualified and unemployed graduates for its 24-month Internship Programme.
This initiative is aimed at providing valuable workplace experience to young graduates who have completed their studies at accredited Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in South Africa.
The programme offers participants an opportunity to gain practical exposure in their respective fields while contributing to the conservation and tourism objectives of SANParks.
This internship programme will be hosted at Marakele National Park, a renowned conservation area located in the Limpopo Province. Successful candidates will be placed within specific departments aligned to their qualifications and fields of study.
Interns will receive a monthly stipend ranging from R6,355.69 to R10,486.58, depending on their qualification level (NQF Level 6 or NQF Level 7).
It is important to note that SANParks is under no obligation to offer permanent employment upon completion of the internship programme.

Human Capital Management Department
Qualification Required: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management
Number of Positions: 1
Tourism Department
Qualification Required: Diploma or Degree in Tourism or Hospitality Management
Number of Positions: 1
Finance Department
Qualification Required: Diploma or Bachelor of Commerce in Finance
Number of Positions: 1
Administration Department
Qualification Required: Diploma in Accounting
Number of Positions: 1
Each intern will be assigned to a department relevant to their field of study, where they will gain hands-on experience and professional development over the two-year period.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the SANParks Internship Programme, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
Must be an unemployed graduate between the ages of 18 and 35
Must be a South African citizen
Must have completed a Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma (NQF Level 6 or NQF Level 7) in one of the specified fields from a recognized South African public Higher Education Institution
Must not have previously participated in an internship or placement programme
Must not have formal work experience in the field of study
Applicants who do not meet all the above criteria will not be considered for the programme.

Candidates applying for positions outside their area of residence must be prepared to arrange their own accommodation and transportation. While SANParks may provide accommodation within the park, this will depend on availability and is not guaranteed.
