Job Summary:
We are currently hiring Customer Assistants for multi-skilled roles such as cashiers, packers, cleaners, baker and more in various locations.
As a Customer Assistant, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining Food Supply Chain disciplines, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers.
Locations:
Hilton, Umdloti, Belle Constantia, Cape Farms, Soweto, Walmer, West Acres, Bedfordview, Glenvista, Brooklyn, Thokoza, Equarand, Atteridgeville, Giyani, Century City, Belle Constantia, Richards Bay Central and Lephalale.
Responsibilities:
- Greet, smile, and acknowledge customers warmly.
- Display a friendly and helpful attitude while serving customers.
- Offer available services, such as utility bill payments and airtime top-ups.
- Address customer needs by asking, listening, and advising on available options.
- Provide alternatives if a product is unavailable.
- Process till transactions efficiently, adhering to policies and procedures.
- Scan and pack items at till points, checking payments for irregularities.
- Promote different payment methods and transactions.
- Maintain cold chain and hygiene standards during stock replenishment.
- Ensure stockroom inventory is represented on the sales floor.
- Demonstrate product knowledge and highlight features and benefits.
- Keep the till point hygienic, safe, and well-organized.
- Report acts of dishonesty, shrinkage, and fraud to the appropriate channels.
- Minimize shrinkage by following corporate store disciplines.
- Apply red flag processes where applicable and be aware of suspicious activity.
- Demonstrate self-discipline in terms of attendance, dress code, hygiene, and time-keeping.

Requirements:
- Proficient in English.
- Clear criminal record.
- Preferences (meeting these criteria is a plus, but not mandatory/compulsory):
- EE/AA candidates.
- South African candidates.
- Residing within 15km of the job location.
- Availability and flexibility to work different shifts.
- Relevant working experience in a similar environment is advantageous.
- Basic computer literacy.
