Minimum Requirements:
The Youth Employment Service (YES) is a public-private initiative led by the Presidency to tackle youth unemployment in South Africa. Eskom is participating in this initiative by offering work opportunities to unemployed youth in line with the BBBEE definition. If you are a young South African eager to enter the job market, this is your chance for a transformative first work experience in the dynamic energy industry.
General Requirements for All Positions:
- Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen.
- Age: Between 18 to 34 years.
- Education: Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Employment Status: Should not have been employed permanently with a single employer continuously for more than 1 year.
- Education Status: Should not be studying full-time during the year of employment.
- YES Initiative: Must not have participated or registered on the YES initiative before.
Successful candidates will receive a 12-month contract to work in Eskom Operations across all South African provinces.
Distribution Positions (17 Positions):
- Locations: Positions available at various sites, including Jerusalem, Kiepersol, Mkhuhlu, Kabokweni, Marathon, Marathon West, Barberton, Kanyamazane, Buffelspruit, Figtree, Kamhlushwa, Malelane, Matsulu, Lydenburg, Sabie, and Greenvalley CNCs.
Generation Positions (11 Positions at Kendal Power Station):
- Location: Kendal Power Station, Mpumalanga, South Africa
Key Responsibilities:
As part of Eskom’s Youth Employment Service, successful candidates will:
- Gain valuable work experience in the energy sector.
- Participate in a structured development program.
- Support operations and projects across various Eskom divisions.
- Engage with teams to understand processes and contribute to operational goals.
