As a Store Assistant , you will play a crucial role in supporting the Store Manager and maintaining high company standards in various operational areas including housekeeping, merchandising, shrinkage control, discipline, and security.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Banking of cash and ensuring accurate financial transactions.
- Assisting the Store Manager during their absence to ensure smooth operations.
- Upholding company standards related to housekeeping, merchandising, shrinkage control, discipline, and security.
- Ensuring strict compliance with all company procedures and policies.
- Assisting in staff management and supervision under the guidance of the Store Manager.
- Implementing and maintaining effective front-end controls to prevent theft and maintain security.
- Overseeing operations related to the cash office and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.
- Implementing measures to minimize stock loss and optimize inventory control.
- Providing excellent customer service to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Introducing and overseeing sales initiatives to achieve store targets effectively.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- High school diploma (Matric/Grade 12) with a preference for Mathematics or equivalent qualification (NQF Level 4).
- Proven experience in managing people and departments within a retail environment.
- Previous experience in clothing retail would be highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with customers and team members.
- Strong administrative skills including proficiency in computer applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to make sound decisions independently and under pressure.
- Strong organizational and planning skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with a proactive and self-motivated approach.
- Ethical conduct and a high level of integrity, with honesty and transparency in all dealings.
- Ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve targets and deliver exceptional customer service.
