Job Purpose
The Cook will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and service of meals, ensuring that all food is produced to the highest quality standards.
The role requires maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and service areas, supporting stock management, and delivering exceptional customer service at all times.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring smooth kitchen operations while upholding health and safety standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook high-quality meals, including fast foods and sandwiches, for branded food outlets.
- Ensure that all meals are prepared efficiently, maintaining consistency, presentation, and taste.
- Maintain strict hygiene and cleanliness standards in both kitchen and service areas at all times.
- Assist with regular stock-takes and inventory control, ensuring accurate recording and minimal wastage.
- Support waste management processes, including proper disposal and recycling practices where applicable.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships by providing friendly, professional service.
- Ensure that all customer interactions are warm, welcoming, and aligned with company service standards.
- Deliver exceptional customer service consistently, adhering to high professional performance standards.
- Follow loss prevention guidelines to minimize waste, theft, and stock discrepancies.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient service delivery during busy periods.
- Adhere to workplace standards of behavior, maintaining professionalism and respect at all times.
- Perform additional duties or tasks outside the normal routine when required, within the scope of the position.

Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) qualification is essential.
- Previous experience working as a food service assistant or cook is required.
- Prior experience working in a healthcare environment is mandatory.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations in food service environments.
