Zizwe Mining Company invites applications from suitably qualified and motivated individuals to fill twenty (20) General Worker positions on a fixed-term basis at Khutala. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are hardworking, reliable, and committed to maintaining high safety and operational standards within a mining environment.
As a General Worker, you will play an important role in supporting daily site operations. The position requires individuals who can work well under supervision, follow instructions accurately, and contribute to a productive and safe workplace. Candidates must be physically fit, disciplined, and willing to perform a variety of manual tasks as required on site.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
A minimum of Grade 10 qualification as per client requirements
Ability to communicate effectively in English (both verbal and basic written communication)
Must have a clear criminal record
Willingness and ability to undergo and pass a medical assessment as part of the recruitment process
Must be physically fit and capable of performing manual labour tasks
Ability to work in a team and follow instructions from supervisors
Willingness to work in a mining environment and comply with all site regulations
Meeting the above requirements is essential to ensure that candidates can safely and effectively perform their duties in a demanding work environment.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
The successful candidates will be expected to carry out a range of general duties that support the efficient operation of the mining site. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Following all applicable working procedures to ensure tasks are completed correctly and efficiently
Taking instructions from supervisors and carrying out assigned duties with diligence and accuracy
Adhering strictly to all safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment
Maintaining good housekeeping standards across the worksite, ensuring that work areas are clean, organized, and hazard-free
Assisting with general labour tasks such as cleaning, loading, unloading, and moving materials as required
Supporting other team members and departments when needed to ensure smooth operations
Reporting any unsafe conditions, incidents, or equipment issues to the supervisor immediately
Ensuring proper use and care of tools and equipment provided
Participating in safety meetings, training sessions, and toolbox talks as required
These duties are essential to maintaining productivity and safety on site. Employees are expected to demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to following all company policies and procedures.
Work Environment
The position is based at Khutala and involves working in a mining environment, which may include exposure to dust, noise, and physically demanding conditions. Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions. The role may also require working shifts, weekends, or extended hours depending on operational needs.
Zizwe Mining Company places a strong emphasis on safety, and all employees are required to comply with safety standards at all times. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as instructed, and all safety protocols must be followed without exception.

Medical Assessment
