Salary Package
Remuneration ranges from R163 680 per annum to R192 810 per annum, inclusive of service benefits such as a 13th cheque, employer contributions to the pension fund, and housing and medical aid allowances.
Minimum Requirements
NQF Level 3 (Grade 10 or equivalent qualification)
Valid driver’s license (Code B/EB)
Physically fit to perform duties, including working at heights and in confined spaces
Willingness to travel and work at various public health institutions within the Central Karoo District
Ability to work overtime, including standby duties during day or night shifts
Competencies and Skills
The ideal candidate should demonstrate:
Ability to function independently and take initiative in planning tasks proactively
Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
Adherence to safety standards and Occupational Health and Safety regulations
Good conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Basic knowledge of hospital plant systems, laundry equipment, and machinery
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be required to:
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, plant, and tools
Assist with electrical, mechanical, plumbing, building, and infrastructure maintenance
Ensure that the workshop and office space remain organised, clean, and functional
Carry out job requisitions and assist with administrative duties
Support supervisors in daily operational requirements
Adhere strictly to Occupational Health and Safety standards at all times
Respond to maintenance requests efficiently and ensure minimal disruption to hospital services
Additional Information
Shortlisted candidates will be subjected to a practical test to assess their technical competencies and suitability for the role.
